English Programme

The programme is designed to be completed in four years. By the end of the programme, in Communication and Language/ Literacy Development students will.

• Communicate effectively by talking, listening, and speaking to others for a variety of purposes and in a variety of contexts
• Use reading strategies that are appropriate for beginning readers in order to make sense of a variety of texts such as class readers, level-specific storybooks
• Communicate in written form by constructing simple sentences, using strategies that are appropriate for beginners
• Demonstrate an awareness of individual letters, sounds from a–z, and digraphs such as ch, sh, th and identify them in words
• Blend and segment sounds to read and write simple words
• Recognize word patterns (rhyming words and word families) in stories, poems, and songs

The knowledge and skills-based curriculum derived from the UK national curriculum guides students from Nursery to Cambridge International Examinations (CAIE), qualifying them for the IGCSE, and O and A Level examinations.

• Communicate clearly and effectively by talking, listening, and speaking to others for a variety of purposes and contexts at an age-appropriate level
• Learn songs and rhymes in Bahasa
• Demonstrate an awareness of letters, sounds and Suku Kata such as ba , ca , da,-nga ,-ny
• Spell, read, and write words, short phrases, short sentences
• Understand and answer simple Comprehension ( Kefahaman) passages
